My Story

Hello, my name is Alexandra. In 2019, I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer, otherwise known as IBC, which is also defined as Her2 +(positive), Er/Pr - (hormone negative). Prior to this, I was a rather healthy 56 year old woman. After receiving the results of the CT and bone scans, it showed the cancer had already spread to my lymph nodes as well as my bones. This is known as Stage 4 or metastatic breast cancer. So my treatment plan was considered palliative and I was not a candidate for surgery.

I was started on chemotherapy almost immediately as IBC is known to be an aggressive and rare type of breast cancer (only 1-5% of breast cancer is IBC). I had an incredibly rough time on chemo. My first treatment landed me in the hospital emergency room with an extremely high fever as well as a UTI which lead to Sepsis. So after 10 days in the hospital, they lowered the dose and I was able to get through six months of chemo as well as Perjeta and Herceptin. However, I was in the ER numerous times during this period. My body was barely tolerating the toxic pharmaceuticals. I also had radiation on my lower back and hip as I was in so much pain I could barely walk!

So I began to look into integrative cancer care as I have always believed in taking care of the whole body/self. The fact I chose chemotherapy was so out of left field for me and what I believe. I had worked as a medical secretary for several years and was well aware of what allopathic/conventional medicine could offer me. So I had to figure out how to forge ahead, especially having been given a 2 year prognosis, with 5 years at best. The rebel in me said there has to be a better way to survive cancer! Studies have shown that denying death may help you live longer and that being depressed may cause you to die sooner!.

In August 2021, I stopped taking Perjeta due to neuropathy. In October of 2023, I discontinued Herceptin as I had a vitreous haemorrhage of my right eye. So I decided this was the opportune time to try RSO (Rick Simpson Oil). I did my research and heard many personal success stories for treating cancer. Several months later, I am still thriving and do not take any cancer drugs. As of April 2024, it's been 5 years since my diagnosis and I am doing well with no evidence of active disease, otherwise known as NEAD!!!

Follow me as I put on my Wonder Woman socks and see for yourself how I started my journey to a more vibrant and healthier me, despite the cancer prognosis. And especially despite the naysayers! I will not just survive but thrive... and my sincere hope is you will too!

I have created a few documents and daily living practices on the following pages. And here are a few books I have found beneficial. These are: The Truth about Cancer by Ty M. Bollinger; Radical Remission by Kelly A Turner, Ph.D and Herbal Medicine,Healing & Cancer, Donald R Yance, Jr; also Naturopathic Oncology, An Encyclopedic Guide for Patients & Physicians by Dr Neil McKinney.
